Who am I? I’m new to blogging, but not new to history. When I was in grade school my grandpa saw me reading a fiction book and told me I was wasting my time. By the 7th grade it hit me, he was right. I dragged my family to every historic site and museum we could see in the United States and Europe as my Aunt had done for me all across the Great Plains. I recently accepted that my geographic location, while best for my family, limits me from going forward with my PHD in history unless I go through an online degree with the UK. However, I am not ready to settle down on the single, well-defined research question necessary. I’ve recently entered a new chapter in my life and while my family will remain my priority, I don’t want to, as Grandpa so eloquently put it, waste my time. If I can teach others from the fabric of the past, the better.
